Abajo Haven Video

Our stay with you was top drawer. It wasn't just the accommodations (which were more than comfortable) and it wasn't just the food (which was wonderful, by the way) but it was most of all the warmth with which you welcomed us to your beautiful spot on the earth. You are consummate hosts."

Golfing

Fishing

Only 7 miles from the ranch. Either fish trout in the city reservoirs or fish bass or pike in Recapture Reservoir.

Day Hikes

House on Fire Ruin

One of our favorite day hikes is in SOUTH MULE CANYON. There are several ruins in this beautiful canyon. It is a very easy walk for you and for children. You can make it a half day hike or an all day adventure. There are many places to eat lunch and be inspired by nature and the ancient culture that lived here 700 to 1,000 years ago. Ask us about other great day hikes.

ATV Trails

There are many self guided trails that start at the cabin and continue into the Manti La-Sal National Forest. During certain times of the year you may see wildlife such as turkeys and deer.

4th of July

Fourth of July

There is nothing compared to Blanding's 4th of July celebration! Don't miss this true small town USA celebration, starting with a parade; all day festivities; and ending with a fireworks display that has been quoted as being "better than disneyland's celebration!"

Museums

Make sure and visit the Dinosaur Museum, The Edge of the Cedars Museum (Indian artifacts), and Huck's Museum (largest private collection of Anasazi artifacts) in Blanding.

Water Activities / Picnicing

Choose from 3 reservoirs that are located only 6 miles from the ranch and enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, or picnicing!

The Abajo Loop

Continue your trip over the Abajo Mountain, through the Manti La-Sal National Forest and on to Monticello. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, maybe pack a picnic to enjoy in the campground, or enjoy lunch in the town of Monticello. This is a good graveled road. No RV's. This mountain will just get you started on your San Juan County scenic adventure! Talk to us about many other scenic adventures.
